General
information
Fields of use
of carbon materials, see more information of the products under each
product type
The Carbon
products are made of the raw material of Viscose.
Carbon fibers
are sectioned into two categories according to their thermal treatment
temperatures: carbonized fibers – final thermal treatment at 500-900 °C
and carbon content to 92.0% (mass); graphitized fibers – final thermal
treatment at 1500-2500 °C and carbon content to 98.0-99.9% (mass).
The specially
given off category is formed by activated carbon materials.
Carbonized
material with final thermal treatment at 800-900 °C may be used as
semi-products for manufacturing of graphitized carbon materials.
Carbonized material with final thermal treatment at 500-800 °C are
recommended as semi-product for manufacturing of sorption-active
materials.
Carbonized
materials may be also used as thermo-insulation and fire protection.
They are produced
in forms of ribbons of various width, fabrics, hosiery of various
structure and non-woven materials.
The basic fields
of application for the graphitized carbon materials are the productions
of carbon plastics and electro-heating terms.
Sorption-active
carbon materials are used in the processes of purification of vapour-air
and liquid environs from harmful impurities and also in medicine.
Graphitized carbon material
Graphitized
carbon materials are produced as threads, monodirectional tapes and
woven tapes, textiles with different structure, powders – common title
URAL, and as non-woven material – CARBOPON.

Sorption-active carbon materials
Carbon fiber sorbents – sorbents made of activated carbon
fibers. Produced as ribbon, textiles with different structure, powders –
common title is BUSOFIT and as non-woven materials – common title is
CARBOPON-ACTIVE.
Activated carbon fiber adsorbents are also called
flexible sorbents. Carbon fiber sorbents are the most perspective
materials for technical use and can be characterized by highly developed
porous structure, high sorption and kinetics characteristics, high
mechanical durability, adjustable thermal and radiation stableness,
comparatively high electroconductivity. Availability of the different
textile forms allow to vary equipment design of the processes of
sorption, that in one’s turn widens use of them in the different
technical and national economy fields.

Filtration and
sorption in gas.
Textile materials
made of activated fibers can be used as filtering
sorption-active elements. High effectiveness of mechanic
filtration of gases caused both by the textile structure of the
materials and by the low diameter (5-10mkm) of carbon fibers.
High sorption activity for organic solvents and toxic gases is
caused by high porosity: total pores volume is up to 0.7 cm3/g,
specific surface is up to 1500m2/g |
Filters for the
adsorption and recuperation of organic solvents: benzol,
acetone, etc.
Filters for the
interception of the aerosols of oils and plasticizers in the air
filters of computers.
Domestic and
industrial filters for purification of air from smoke and
microorganismus (in hospitals, etc.).
Cigarette filters,
smell adsorbents in the refrigerators and in the cars.
Filters for the
elimination of radioactive iodine steams. |
Non-woven
materials, textile |
|
Sorption from
liquids. Owing to highly developed surface and ion-exchanging
behavior activated carbon fibers are effective sorbents of
organic pollutions and ions heavy metals. Most perspective for
sorption from liquids using of fiber sorbents with ratio of
micro- and meson-pore 70:30 |
Filtering elements
for elimination from potable water organic and chlorine-organic
admixtures, heavy metals and microorganisms.
Filters for
adsorption of Cr (III) and Cr (VI) from sewage of galvanic
production.
Filtering elements
for chemical and electrochemical adsorption of Au in
hydrometallurgy. Elimination of Hg ions from the liquids.
